Bhavaghni Guruji's Message on Gita Jayanthi

IMG 0173Gita Jayanthi is an auspicious day there are no words to describe the auspiciousness of this day. Vaikuntha Ekadashi is the day on which Vyasa Maharishi gifted mankind the most important of the Veda scriptures in the form of Srimad Bhagavad-Gita. Srimad Bhagavad-Gita is the only companion for the human being to lead his/her life in the right path, to know his true aims in his life and to show the right path to achieve his/her aim.

Srimad Bhagavad-Gita should not be seen as a Hindu scripture, it’s not specific to any religion, the human being is just one among 8.4 million species, what makes the human being special is, it’s gifted with the knowledge to understand the true wisdom, the true wisdom which was put before us in the form of Srimad Bhagavad-Gita by Paramatma himself in his own words.  Srimad Bhagavad-Gita teaches us what one has to do as a human being; it gives us the knowledge that one should posses to understand the purpose of our existence as a human being. If Srimad Bhagavad-Gita and the knowledge it impart on the human being is not there, then there would be no difference between an animal and a human being. The human being would be nothing but a two legged animal if Srimad Bhagavad-Gita does not exist.

Salutations to Sadguru, my Master

101All of us know that our ultimate endeavor is peace and happiness. Though these two words peace and happiness appear differently, they are indeed synonymous and each can not mean independently anything without the other. Whatever we do or strive to do is only to realize this peace and happiness. But our experience proves that whatever we are doing is inadequate to retain whatever little that we achieve of it. We only have three primary tools to make any effort to achieve whatsoever we want. These are body, speech and mind. Of these three the body and speech can achieve certain limited results and that too never without active help of mind. Therefore mind is the singular and most important tool to do anything and to achieve anything.

02With the advent of English education in India, there have been many cultural and behavioral changes to the livelihood of Indians. English education has brought about many changes, without the English education the software revolution in India would have not been possible the strong administrative India would have not been possible, but to the down side of these advantages we have lost our cultural, ethical   and behavioral system which ancient Indians were proud of.

Most of the modern day inventions happened during the early 18th century in the European sub continent, these inventions has produced amazing achievements, but we must analyze the wider implications for such technologies and their notions of progress. These technologies often bring huge negative consequences that seem negligible in the short-term, however these technologies when compared to traditional knowledge are often treated as ‘pre-modern’ in the sense out dated.

Bhavaghni Shanthi Yagnam

DSC 0985SANTHOYAM ATHMA, God is the embodiment of peace. The Yagna is performed to invoke the blessings of the Gods and devas, for all living beings to be peaceful. The Yagna is performed by chanting verses from the Bhagavad gita which is often revered to as the Veda for Vedas and the Upanishad of the Upanishads. “Om Tat Sat” Mantra is considered superior and powerful above all other Mantras, generally know as “Maha Mantra of all Mantras” like all rivers merge into the ocean, all Mantras are merged into this one mantra. “Om Tat Sat Hari Om Tat Sat” translated to mean the ‘Supreme Absolute Truth’. The yagna is performed by hearty feeling that everything is paramatma and paramatma is everything.

The smoke emanating from the Yagna together with the Ghee sámagri and other offerings made in the Yagna gundam will make us forget our ego and reminds us of our true self.

"advesta sarva-bhutanam maitrah karuna eva cha"

“One who is not envious is a kind friend to all living entities”
